Our Hiring Process

Stage 1

Online application

Your online application is split into two parts.

Part one: submit your CV and your initial application.

This is your chance to tell us why you're genuinely interested in the role and joining CIL.

We know AI tools can be helpful for some tasks, but for your application, we're really looking to understand your independent thinking and motivations. Try to write in your own voice and reflect on what excites you about the role.

Part two: take some online tests.

These will take about 45 minutes to complete, and assess your:
  • Numerical skills
  • Ability to learn new things
  • Situational judgement
  • Ways of working
Please make sure that you're in a quiet space for these assessments, and that you take your time.

What happens next...

Once we’ve reviewed your application, a member of the team will be in touch.
Stage 2

R1 Associate interview

The interview
This interview will last one hour, and includes a market sizing exercise and commercial questions. You'll also be asked about your CV and motivations for applying for a role with us.

Throughout this round, we will be assessing your commercial, analytical, and communication skills. You can prepare by looking up market sizing exercises and attempting to answer them yourself.
Stage 3

R2 Associate interview

Your round 2 interview includes a data interpretation task (where you’ll be discussing some charts / graphs) and a chat about your CV and motivations. There will also be a chance for you to ask your interviewer some questions about the role and CIL.

The round 2 interview evaluates your ability to understand charts / graphs. It’s also a chance for you to show your interest in an internship at CIL.

Make sure you fully understand what CIL does and why you’re interested in a placement with us.
